Childrens Story

Gurbi and Whitney

Once upon a time there was an orange female cat named Gurbi who lived in a big house with people who had lots of money. She was a happy cat who was loved everyday and nothing could break her mood, until one day her owners decided that their daughter who just turned 7 that she needed a cat of her own. Gurbi began thinking about reasons why they would do this, the first thing that came to mind was that I just wasn’t enough for them anymore. The main reason she thought about was because she was no longer a kitten anymore.

Three days later on a Saturday her owner went to the pet store to buy a new cat. They came home with a female pure snow white cat with beautiful baby blue eyes. All day Gurbi had to listen and watch everybody having fun with the new cat, Gurbi tried to get there attention but no one seemed to be paying any attention to her. Gurbi soon got jealous and couldn’t take it anymore, she was sad that she would end up all alone. She decided to give up for the day and left to go sleep in her playhouse.

The morning came and Gurbi woke up thinking it was all a dream but she woke up to the new cat cuddling her. Gurbi got up and woke up the new cat, she knew that they must've named her by now but she was still going call her the “new cat”. Gurbi looked at the new cat and they finally had their first conversation.

“You must be Gurbi” the new cat said,

Gurbi was tempted not to answer her but she knew that she wasn’t that kind of cat. She quickly remembered that this was there first time meeting, how would the new cat know my name already she only just got here.

“Yes, you must be the new cat” Gurbi said,

“Yeah, my name is Whitney. I hope you don’t mind me being here, this is my third time being in a different home in the last two weeks” she sadly said.

Gurbi soon felt sorry for Whitney and wondered why an owner wouldn’t keep her around.

“What do you mean?” Gurbi said confused.

“I have had three different names in the last two weeks from other owners who adopted me and then they would bring me back to the shelter because they didn’t like the way I ate too much” Whitney said with her head staring at the ground.

She certainly sounded sad and shy when she said that.

I knew it was going to be time to eat breakfast soon and i was genuinely sad for Whitney right now, I tried to reassure her that our owners weren't like that, that they would love her for who she was. I know now that I was being too judgemental and Whitney wasn’t really that bad once you think about it, shes just like any other cat or kitten. I then was thinking that I was going to have to stand up for her, I was beginning to think that we were going to be best friends.

It's been a year and Gurbi and Whitney still live together and are best friends.

Two years from now they were getting closer and then got in a big fight that tour them apart.

Four years from now they became friends again and thought of each other as family.

The End
