Journal Entry #5
In our bbt class we made Sploder accounts, sploder is a site where you can make games. Once we started to make the game we were to have 2 levels and to post it to my blog. The only issue i had with this site was that my computer was very slow and it would not let me sign in.
Journal Entry #4
In our bbt class we watched a documentary about privacy on the internet. This video was very interesting in many different ways and I think the video also made me think twice before giving away any information that could result in harm to me or anyone else. There was lots of good arguments between why people should be careful on the internet, also a very interesting thing i saw in the video is when a person brook into someones house and then used there computer to post a picture on facebook of them.
Journal Entry #3
In our bbt class we have been asked to get in groups and make a poster about anything involving internet, so our group Mackenzie, Jessica, Alisha and I choose to make a poster on social Media safety. This poster would involve thing about like how what you say on the internet has an impact on who you are as a person and could also hurt you later on in life.
Journal Entry #2

Poster
Our group, (MacKenzie, Nicole, Jessica and Alisha) did our poster on the how to be safe, while using social media. The subject targets mainly the ages eleven and up, because some teens and children can be a lot more immature than others, and handle things differently. We put the things that would be common sense if you were to be making an account on Facebook, Instagram, etc. For example, if you give out your password and tell someone not to go on your account, they could be immature about it and do the opposite. We took photo’s off of Google that represent social media sites such as: Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Some other points we put on our poster were to be nice to others while online, and be careful of what you post because it could affect you later on in life. I think it would be effective to talk about this because it would give kids and teenagers and idea of how they should act online and possibly be more mature about everything. In our group, MacKenzie drew and designed the draft of the poster and wrote the rationale. Jessica also helped designed the poster and came up with the things to put on it. Alisha helped get pictures. Nicole also helped get pictures as well.

The documentary “How William Shatner Changed the World” is about how the movie Star Trek changed the world. The commissioner of the movie is the Discovery Channel Canada and co-produced for the History Channel, but hosted and narrated by William Shatner. Star Trek changed the world because of the technology in the movie. It made people want the technology to actually be invented.
Star Trek had a hand in how things are today, with the technology of cell phones, computer desktops, laptops, ipods, ipads, MP3 players and many more devices, from the watch of this one movie. Then the Star Trek:The Second Generation came out and brought even more advances. These movies brought change to everything that involved with technology.
Ed Roberts was an American engineer, medical doctor and an entrepreneur who invented the personal computer (PC) in 1975. He is known as the father of the PC. His first successful invention was an electronic calculator, but he first created this 8 inch disk device. After this happened Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak got an idea and created “Apple”. Also Bill Gates created “microsoft” and a software company.
The Cyberknife is a robotic system used for treating all kinds of tumors for example malignant tumors and other medical conditions. This system was invented by John R Alder. This cyberknife system is a method of radiotherapy to target treatment more accurately than their regularly radiotherapy.
I have learned a lot from this documentary “How William Shatner Changed the World” because I have never knew that the technology we have today is all pretty much from the 2005 film Star Trek.

Cloud Computing
Last week we watched 3 videos and were asked to pick 3 things that interested us in these videos, the videos are called The World Wide Web, Cloud Computing and Web 2.0 Explained.
The World Wide Web:
- I think the idea of cloud computing is cool, because if you have no experience it makes it easier to understand.
- I think It helps people save money, and thats good.
- I think the internet makes a lot of things easier and it saves people from being stressed out and helps people with some of these problems.
Cloud Computing:
- Its interesting to see what happens when you publish your picture or save or send it over the internet, its like it goes up in the sky (clouds).
- It was interesting when you break your computer, you can’t see it anymore but it is still out there somewhere in the sky.
- I find its interesting how your picture can be anywhere, it could be in France or Paris, anywhere.
Web 2.0 Explained:
- I found it interesting that the video did everything so fast.
- Its interesting how you can do certain things, that i never knew how to before i watched this video.
- It was interesting how people can make websites and how they can do all those things on the internet.
My video that i picked: Technology in the classroom:Digital Media
